Stories of Guru Gobind Singh

Narrated by Gursewak Singh, Based on the autobiography of Guru Gobind Singh, the Bachittar Natak, and the Suraj Prakash (Sri Gurpartap Suraj Granth) by poet Bhai Santokh Singh ji.

Starting on January 27th 2022, we will meet every thursday at 16:00 hrs CET/ 17:00 hrs EET for 1.5h.

Sri Gurpartap Suraj Granth is Kavi Santokh Singh Ji’s most famous work, covering the life stories and teaching of all 10 Gurus. This evening series will attempt to cover the 4-volumes of Guru Gobind Singh’s life.

There is no available english translation of the Suraj Prakash (Suraj Granth), so this is a rare opportunity for english speakers to dive deep into the stories of Guru Gobind Singh’s life from an original source.

The course will cover in details stories of the life of Guru Gobind Singh ji, including his autobiography written in Bachittar Natak (Sri Dasam Granth), his childhood plays at Patna Saheb, the matrydom of sri Teg Bahadar Ji, the building of an army at Anandpur Saheb,, the battles with the hill chiefs, His literary works, The formation of the Khalsa at Keshgarh saheb, the battles with the mughals, the matrydom of Sahebzaadas, GGS’s stay at machiwarra, the battle of khidrana, the 40 muktas, the Zafarnamah written to Aurangzeb, his stay at Talwandi Sabo-again compiling of Sri Guru Granth Saheb Ji, teaching its meanings to 48 sikhs, the formation of the Taksals, his stay at Nanded, his meeting with Banda Bahadar and his passing or sachhkhand gaman.

During the spring of 2022 we will cover the first part of the life of Guru Gobind Singh in 20 classes.

The course takes place on zoom, with a balance of 8€ (9USD) per class (through paypal).

Gursewak singh is a religious and spirituality teacher, with a teaching experience of 10 years in the Damdami Taksal. His areas of expertise are pronounciation and meanings of Sri Guru Granth Saheb Ji, Sri Dasm Granth Ji, Sri Sarb Loh granth and Sikh history. He is also knowledgeable in sanskrit grammar, the six shastras and the upanishads, teaching as well on the sri madh baghwad geeta.
