21 STAGES OF MEDITATION

21 STAGES OF MEDITATION
KRI Level 3 Course

A journey through the Self — from inner disturbance to the Infinite Pulse

The 21 Stages of Meditation is a profound journey into the nature of the Self. This KRI program takes you through 21 distinct stages of meditative experience as given by Yogi Bhajan, each with its own meditation, challenge, and dimension of awareness.

Across six days, we move through three journeys of seven stages each — from recognizing and crystallizing the Self, to expressing and distilling the Self, and finally to transcending and sublimating the Self.

KRI describes the 21 Stages as a progression from the fundamental skills of meditation toward deeper awareness and integration, ultimately moving into identity, projection, and merger with the Infinite Pulse.

Stage by stage, you discover what becomes possible when consciousness is given space to expand.

You have already started your Journey through the Meditative Mind. This official course will give you the possibility to dive deeper and discover the jewels and rubies hidden within your Meditative Mind.

The nature of meditation is well-defined: refine the mind and elevate your awareness. The path is open: deepen your meditation through each of the 21 Stages of Meditation in order to reach that intangible quality we call realization.

The first journey is about recognizing, experiencing, and crystallizing the Self. We begin with the places where the mind most easily loses its center: Upset · Boredom · Irritation · Frustration.

From there, the journey turns toward: Focus · Absorption · Experience and Crystallize the Self.

The first four stages encounter the disturbances that pull consciousness away from its center. Through the later stages, we develop the capacity to focus, absorb, and recognize a still point within ourselves — a crystallized sense of Self from which consciousness can begin to operate.

Once we have begun to recognize the Self, the next challenge is to live from it. Journey Two explores what happens when the Self moves into relationship, activity, and expression in the world.

The stages move through: Rasa · Delight · Politeness · Humility · Elevation · Graceful Enlightenment · Express and Be Your Self.

Here we learn to participate fully in life without losing our center. We explore how identity is projected into the world, how we take on different roles, and how to remain connected to the Self while acting, relating, and creating — ultimately finding stillness within action.

The final journey opens into the dimension of the Transcendent Self.

The stages are: Presence Like a Beacon · Everywhere Radiance · Prayerful Stillness · Preacher · Teacher · Sage · Infinite Pulse.

Here we move beyond the familiar boundaries of identity. The journey explores presence, radiance, prayerful stillness, teaching, wisdom, and finally the Infinite Pulse — the experience of the Self within the larger field of existence, cultivating an elevated identity with the Infinite Self within the finite self.

The 21 Stages are designed to be experienced. During the training, we will work with:

  • Meditation and contemplative practice
  • Mantra, breath, and concentration
  • Awareness, sensory experience, and stillness
  • Projection, identity, and the subtle dimensions of the Self
  • The challenges that arise within meditation
  • Group meditation and collective practice
  • Integration of the experience into everyday life

The power of the course comes from moving through the stages together as a group while simultaneously having your own deep personal experience.
